McDonnell Performance Horses-A Brief History |

I started McDonnell Performance Horses in 1999. I had 2 horses in training and I was a new comer to East Tennessee. In the beginning, I gave a lot of riding lessons. Today, the business has grown to over 20 horses and encompasses all aspects of the horse industry. From boarding to training to breeding, my business offers a wide variety of services. I believe that all horses are beautiful, powerful animals that deserve the respect and admiration of everyone. My beliefs have helped to develop my training program. It is based on the theory that everyone, horses and people, learns quickly and builds confidence from positive reinforcement. I use the A.I.D. & PRAISE communication system. This system has been very successful for me. I have been able to train World Champion horses and National Champion Riders. In 2004 the TN Quarter Horse Assoc. and the American Quarter Horse Assoc. presented me with the Most Valuable Professional Horseman award. Horses are my life and my greatest inspiration. Through my training program and my teaching it is my goal to improve the life of as many horses as possible. |
